What to expect at All Hallows

For anyone who has, or is considering booking with us, this page is here to offer some answers to our most frequently asked questions and prepare you for a restful, peaceful stay.

Shared Facilities

We aren't able to offer ensuite facilities for any of our bedrooms, but there are plenty to go around. We have five toilets to serve our eight bedrooms, with three electric showers and one bath. All toilet and shower facilities are new as of July 2022. We do ask guests to provide their own shower gel or shampoo, but of course offer eco-friendly hand soap, towels, and a private sink for all our upstairs bedrooms.

Cleaning

Our ethos is simplicity and environmental sustainability; we use eco-friendly cleaning products sourced ethically and thoughtfully. We offer fresh white organic bedding and fluffy bath sheets to all our guests, but as a family run guesthouse we aren't able to offer daily room cleaning. If you need fresh towels, if your room needs a clean, or your bedding could be freshened up, just ask and we will be happy to help.

Self-catering

We have a stunning self-catering kitchen overlooking the garden so that guests can prepare meals at home as and when they wish. A water boiler provides ready hot water with a large selection of teas and good cafetiére coffee. Guests are welcome to use the fridge, microwave, toaster, hob or oven during their stay so it is easy to save money for anyone travelling on a budget.

Breakfast

Served downstairs between 8-10am, our continental breakfasts are made from simple, mostly organic and local ingredients and include homemade sourdough bread with a variety of spreads, a selection of seasonal fruit from Norwich Market, a choice of granolas with local honey and yoghurt, as well as our range of teas and coffee and fruit juice. We are happy to cater for gluten-free and vegan diets (just let us know).

Location

As a medieval city, Norwich is built on a small scale and very manageable on foot. All Hallows is only a short walk from the railway station (across the river and up a small hill), and only slightly further from the bus station. We are ten to fifteen minutes from the cathedral, castle, market and historic Lanes, and you can find shops, cafes and restaurants only two minutes away.

Pet Friendliness

We have a house dog at All Hallows, so we know it's hard to leave pets behind. That's why we are always willing to consider requests from those wishing to bring their dog, but as a retreat house please remember that we are trying to create an atmosphere where guests can escape from noise and chaos, so if your dog is prone to noise-making or hyperactivity, it may not be a good fit. Please note: dogs are considered on a case by case basis, and subject to an additional £20 cleaning fee. All damages must be paid for.

Parking

Due to our city centre location, we are unable to offer parking permits to guests. However, there is a large council car park across the street that offers reasonable rates for daily or overnight parking, and the street outside All Hallows offers free parking from 6:30pm to 7:30am daily, plus all day Sundays.
